The collaborative MOSAIC for DEADLY DAYS!!!!!!!!

The mosaic photographs are created in a program called ANDREA MOSAIC.
All the digital photographs taken by the students are put into the program.

The program creates a random composition each time you process a new image.

The students liked the Aboriginal flag as one MOSAIC idea,
and also wanted a design. The design you see below was originally
created by Jarryd. He was one of the students in the workshop. Hope you like them!

These images will be showcased as large A2 size photographs at the
DEADLY DAYs FESTIVAL, held at Wollongbar TAFE, North Coast, on Wednesday 22nd October Check out the website!!!!!!!!! There will be loads to do and see!!!!!!!

Jasmyne Carr's reflection

The past three days have been extremely fun!
On the first day My B came in and told us a story.
I think the story meant, 'don't worry about what people
think about you and be proud of who you are and what you are.'
We then did some drawings.

On the second day, we went out of the room and we took photos of flora.
Then we got our photos taken with either our faces or hands painted.
We also could wear either an orange or black t-shirt.
We all had fun that day. The paint was really cold when it first went on my nose.

On the third and last day we made some more drawings and Katie made up a BLOG.

Naomi 's REFLECTIONS.....

*I drew a picture of a turtle and I named it the
'Rainbow Region Turtle' because I used some rainbow
colours.

*I enjoyed drawing the best, especially using charcoal.

*I liked being able to express myself through art because
it's peaceful when you are drawing, it calms me down but
sometimes it can be frustrating.

Jamie's fun with the camera!

It was fun.
I enjoyed taking photos and getting
out of regular classes.
When I take photos I don't feel bored.

I liked drawing and taking photographs. I also liked getting a design painted on my hand for the photo shoot. I have learned how take better photographs and about Aboriginal culture.

Rebecca's Beautiful painting....

V-TRACKS

V-Tracks is a program, that’s run through TAFE,
for selected students to express ourselves,
e.g. with paintings, drawings, photographs.
My favourite part was painting my picture.
I layered different colours and swirls.
On Thursday, we took hundreds of photographs of birds, animals,
plants, trees, and anything that we thought would look interesting
to put into the collaborative mosaic photograph.
On Friday we drew pictures of Aboriginal animals.

I think this program is very beneficial to those who have chosen to do it, because it inspires young people to express themselves through art.
It helps young people learn the Dream time stories and history of Australia.

Tamika's reflection

V-Tracks
V-tracks was a great experience for me. I learnt a lot of different things during the V-Tracks (TAFE).

I learnt how to draw abstract paintings, create a picture mosaic and how to use a digital camera.

During the first day of V-Tracks we all drew on a large piece of paper with charcoal, and heard many story’s about the dream time.

On the second day we then took plenty of photo’s of the landscape and of each other, soon afterwards we all went outside to paint on our face and our hands, we then took more photo’s but this time we posed a lot.
Today on the third day, we started drawing but soon stopped so we could start our own blogs.

But over all my favourite part of V-Tracks was learning how to do the mosaic and taking lots of pictures.

Jarryd's Original Design

V-Tracks

It was a fun and interesting experience, especially on the first day when we had the painting session. Listening to Mr. B’s story was certainly different; I mean I’ve never heard anything like that before.

Going outside on the second day was great because when we were all outside taking photographs I saw plants and animals what I would’ve never taken notice of, or thought to be a bore before.

Today; on the third day, I attempted another drawing but FAILED. It was alright until I decided to use charcoal to colour in the picture. But all in all, it was a good experience and Katie and Jenny were most tolerant to put up with me and everyone else.
